research background

Currently, children and teachers are working on readiness skills and early literacy experiences in storytelling without any technology. Metaphors are used in computer systems in order to bring real life closer to a computer abstraction. The most predominant metaphor used in computer systems is the desktop metaphor which the web and its legacy of ad-hoc metaphors are becoming more and more a part of our lives.

Metaphor can be used as an interface to communicate information about domains between human and computer at a cognitive and visual level. The power of metaphor has been employed in the area of human-computer interaction (HCI) and interface design and the importance of the user interface and its related software in interactive software applications is increasingly being recognized. In contrast with current HCI, face-to-face human communication uses a variety of modes, including facial gestures and expressions. It would be desirable to make use of more natural communication modes in HCI and ultimately computer facilitated human interaction .

Metaphor in storytelling is a way to describe transition from the older version to new own or way to describe storytelling more interactive. Without metaphors in storytelling, ideas are dry and slip through people ears without a second thought. Metaphors are usually suited for use with young children as they can convey the method of interaction required both pictorially and conceptually thus eliminating the need for text which most young children are unable to understand education in history of Muslim.

Metaphor in storytelling can provide another way for children to learn and make sense of their world. Computers can be used in developmentally appropriate ways that are beneficial to children and available to children to explore, create, and communicate in storytelling. When used appropriately by skilled teachers, metaphor can support and extend learning in valuable ways and can increase educational opportunities for children.
